Why are antimicrobial brushes a skin-saving necessity? We are women that know the importance of skincare, that's why we wanted brushes that didn't compromise our skincare routines with bacteria, fungus, mold and yeast. Regular makeup brushes hold millions of bacteria that can cause breakouts, acne, redness, irritations and even skin infections. Even worse, cleaning brushes with chemical disinfectants only kill bacteria once and can cause dryness by disrupting the natural microbiome of your skin and cause skin irritations when absorbed. This means that you're spreading oil from your nose pores to your eyelids to your mouth, causing an overload of foreign microbes that your skin isn't used to handling, which clogs pores and leads to acne. Instead, your skin thrives on nourishing, healthy flora that keep your hydration and pH levels optimal for glowing skin. Our brushes and technology are formulated to never disrupt healthy bacteria, but only target harmful and foreign microbes that will disrupt your skin's natural equilibirum. We developed our technology because we wanted to create a longterm bacteria barrier on our brushes, so that even if you put them on your counter, share them with a friend, or throw them into your makeup bag, no bacteria can ever attach onto the brush, creating a new clean beauty standard.

How does our charged nitrogen rod antimicrobial technology work? Our charged nitrogen rod technology is infused into our makeup brush fibres and on the handles of every one of our brushes to stop bacteria from ever attaching onto our brush hairs and handles. This powerful technology also inhibits the growth of ALL bacteria, mold, yeast and fungus that lingers from oils, foundations, mineral makeup, creams and any bacteria from your makeup bag or bathroom counter. We're all about keeping your skin flora and microbiome healthy and thriving. That's why our technologyis formulated to only target harmful bacteria, but NEVER disrupt healthy bacterial colonies. This is all to keep your skin's pH balanced and optimal for hydration, protection and deep cellular repair. Our antimicrobial technology is Health Canada and EPA approved. It is 98% water-based and natural-grade, so does not contain ANY chemicals, heavy metals, sulfates, parabens or toxins to fight bacteria. Our bacteria-barrier system uses complex science to simplify your beauty routine. Lets get to the technology. Our antimicrobial nanotechnology creates a micro-biostatic antimicrobial coating on the brush hairs and handle that inhibits odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew. The longterm micro-biostatic antimicrobial coating forms a protective surface by forming a microscopic nano bed of spikes (that you cannot see or feel!) that disrupt the foreign microorganism's membrane, resulting in the loss of energy in the microbe and its demise. This coating also keeps the longevity of the brush hairs intact and prevents any staining or discolouration on our brushes.

How is our brush technology different from brush disinfectants and cleaners?Disinfectants use harsh chemicals, work one time against a small range of bacteria (including the healthy flora and bacteria that BENEFIT your skin!) and create dangerous Superbugs. Our nanotechnology is NOT a disinfectant, it is a long-term, natural grade antimicrobial coating that creates NO superbugs or resistant bacteria strains and inhibits the growth of foreign bacteria, mold, fungus and yeast. Here's the dirty truth. 1. Disinfectant products kill bacteria with a chemical-leaching process that uses harsh and harmful toxins to poison the microbes. Not only do these harsh chemicals attach onto your brushes or cosmetics, they also get on your skin, potentially causing skin irritations and reactions, and can be absorbed by your body. The chemicals in these disinfectants also kill good bacteria that nourish your skin and help keep your natural pH balance at equilibirum. Disrupting healthy bacterial flora can reduce skin hydration, elasticity and lead to breakouts and redness. 2. The moment disinfectants dry (about 10 seconds after applying), they stop working. That means that even though you kill some bacteria once, immediately once the disinfectant dries, pore-clogging bacteria, mold, fungus and yeast organisms return to very high levels. 3. The use of chemicals is not only extremely harmful to your skin, but it also causes microbial resistance (what we know as “Superbugs” that are resistant to the toxin). The bacteria can develop an adaptation to the weaker strain of chemicals used and they become immune to it. These resistant ‘Superbugs’ can be very dangerous to your health and so a disinfectant can do much more harm than good. We formulated our brushes with this cutting-edge technology because we really do care about your beauty routine, from the beginning to the end.

Can I wash or clean my brushes even with the coating?Yes. The coating is resistant to water and the brushes can be treated with a cleaning solution without detriment (pH of 3 to 10.5).

Is your antimicrobial technology safe? Our technology is 100% safe, eco-friendly and 98% water-based. It is EPA and Health Canada approved. Once the technology is attached to your brush it is non-leaching and has no environmental or human effects.
